HakiTume Sacco collects and uses information you provide when you register for our services through our web platform or mobile application.
When you register with us and use our digital SACCO platform, you generally provide:
(a) Personal identification information including your name, email address, phone number, ID number, physical address, employment details, and other registration information required for SACCO membership;
(b) Financial and transaction information such as contribution amounts, loan applications, guarantor details, and banking information when you access various parts of our web platform or mobile application;
(c) Communication information you provide when you contact us for customer support, complaints, or assistance;
(d) Additional information you enter into our system when using our digital services, including next-of-kin details, beneficiary information, and member welfare data.
We use this information to provide SACCO services including processing loans, managing contributions, calculating dividends, facilitating AGM participation, and communicating important updates about your membership and the SACCO's performance.
Our web platform and mobile application may automatically collect certain information, including but not limited to: the type of device you use (computer, tablet, or mobile phone), your device's unique identifier, IP address, operating system, browser type, and information about how you interact with our platform. This data helps us improve our services, ensure security, and provide technical support.
Our mobile application may use location services to determine your approximate location for security purposes and to verify your identity during certain transactions. This helps us detect unusual activity and protect your account from unauthorized access.
We do not share your location information with other members or third parties except as required for the provision of SACCO services. You can disable location services for our mobile application in your device settings or within the app itself if you prefer not to share this information.

Please note that as a financial cooperative, we may be required to retain certain information for legal, regulatory, and operational purposes even after membership termination.
We retain member information for as long as you maintain active membership with HakiTume Sacco and for a reasonable period thereafter as required by law. Financial transaction data and loan records are retained for up to 7 years after account closure in compliance with financial regulations. System logs and security data are retained for up to 24 months and may be stored in aggregated form thereafter.
If you wish to request deletion of your personal data, please contact us at hakitume@knchr.org. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe. Please note that some information may be required to remain in our systems for legal compliance and operational purposes.
HakiTume Sacco does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18 without proper parental or guardian consent. Our services are designed for adults who can enter into legally binding financial agreements. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their minor child has provided us with information without consent, they should contact us immediately at hakitume@knchr.org. By registering for membership and using HakiTume Sacco's web platform and mobile application, you consent to the collection, use, and processing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. "Processing" includes collecting, storing, using, combining, disclosing, and deleting information through automated and manual means. All data processing activities are conducted in Kenya in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
